Manny Pacquiao knows that unimaginable riches and new-found fame await Shane Mosley in the event he loses in their face off on May 7 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

“I know that Mosley is training very hard and he knows how it will be for him if he wins against Manny Pacquiao,” said Pacquiao.

“It’ll be a big honor for him to win against me.”

Fully aware of what a very experienced foe can bring to the ring, Pacquiao expects the scheduled 12-rounder to be tough for both fighters.

“Mosley is big, fast and strong and has the height advantage. I expect every single round to be hard.”

Told about advanced Mosley’s age, Pacquiao did not give a lot of credence to it, stressing that he is “not underestimating him.”

Mosley will be four months shy off his 40th birthday by the time he meets the fleet-footed Pacquiao.

“It won’t be foolish to count him out because of his age. He is very experienced and had been in the ring with the very best and beat a lot of great fighters as well,” said the 32-year-old Filipino icon.

Pacquiao spent three weeks in Baguio City under Freddie Roach and the next phase of his preparation – and the most crucial – begins Monday at the Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood.

It will be at the Wild Card that Pacquiao will reach his peak, where he will have to endure as much as 12 rounds of sparring in a single day against a rotation of three to four punchers whom Roach handpicked to hone his prized ward.

As to concerns that Pacquiao might be losing his zest for fighting, the pound-for-pound king insists his desire to fight at an elite level is still there.

“I am still hungry for championships, hungry for more victories (in the ring),” said Pacquiao, who is marking his tenth year of campaigning on US soil.
