Mosley looking for 7th round KO
CALIFORNIA – Sugar Shane Mosley believes that despite Freddie Roach's prediction that Manny Pacquiao will end the fight in 6 rounds, he'll be the one knocking out Manny Pacquiao.
“Any round would do but I think the 7th will be about the time I break him down and be able to get that knock out,” said Mosley.
With a record of 46 wins, 6 losses and one draw, Mosley, who has never been knocked out, is in the final three weeks of his training camp.
Mosley says camp has run smoothly at his Big Bear complex.
Despite reports that the Pacman is having one of his best training camps, Team Mosley is confident that they are also prepared after studying footage from Pacquiao's most recent fights.
The plan is to control Pacquiao's aggressive style.
“All I can prepare for is what I've seen so far. It's yet to be determined what he does in the future. We have to force him to do certain things in order to take advantage of him,” said Naazim Richardson, Mosley’s trainer.
At 39 years old, and a winless 2010, some critics say it's time for Mosley to retire, but the 3-time champion says he already has future plans.
Win or lose, he's expecting a rematch against Pacquiao. After that, he hopes to avenge his 2010 defeat against Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
“These are the fights I want and I want to make sure I win them so I'm going out with a bang,” said Mosley.
The May 7th Las Vegas showdown is expected to be the biggest fight of the year.
According to Top Rank, the MGM Grand has already sold out of tickets for fight night.
